Common Questions

We welcome your enquiries and are happy to provide you with the information you need to make a decision, so please phone us on 06 278 4189 for a personal response to your specific questions.

Roses in our garden 1. What is the procedure for application to Trinity?
First come and visit. Our General Manager will be happy to discuss with you and your family and friends, our admission procedures and your specific needs and how Trinity can cater for them. A potential resident may need to have their dependency levels assessed by the Taranaki District Health Board NASC service.

2. Is financial help available?
Subsidies are available, though may be subject to asset and income testing criteria.
Check out the NZ Ministry of Health website information on financial help

3. Can I keep my own Doctor?
All hospital level residents are admitted under our contracted medical practitioner. Where possible Rest Home residents may retain their own GP. Trinity's own Medical Practitioner is on site three days a week.

4. Can I bring a pet?
Unfortunately we cannot allow pets. We trust you can make alternative arrangements for your beloved pets.

5. Can I bring my own furniture and personal effects?
We encourage residents to personalise their room with personal articles, furniture and photographs.

6. Can my visitors use the common facilities?
Yes, the common facilities are there for residents and their families and friends, provided that guests are accompanied by a resident and that they do not disturb the privacy and enjoyment of other residents. If you wish, for a small fee you can arrange to have a meal with your guests in the dining room. Naturally, advanced notice is requested.

7. Are your flats rented or purchased by their tenants?
Our flats are rented by the tenant.

8. What other costs will I incur after I have rented my flat?
Residents are responsible for their own personal electricity, telephone services, personal chattels and contents insurance.

9. May I make alterations to my flat, install fixtures and fittings?
Any changes would require the permission of the General Manager.
